Release 1.19.5 has just gone out today. I’ve added a bunch of new social networking sites, all my popular demand.
Firstly there is Vkontakte which is a widely used social networking site for Russia and Ukraine. So far they are at 75million users, so it could be said that they are 1/4 the size of facebook. Anyhow, it’s all in Russian, so I would only include it on my site if I had a lot of Russian visitors. Lucky right now that we are getting a lot of Russian downloads.
After adding Foursquare the other day, I instantly got requests for Gowalla, so it’s now included. And on the business side of networking Plaxo, Coconex and Xing were all added.
As ever do let me know if you have problems with the release.
All the best
Andy

I think there’s an issue with the new version. I’m working with WP 3.0 and I tried to install the plugin today. I turned off the sidebar feature and the entire thing just stopped working, and that was the only settings change I made. One moment it was showing all the icons, then as soon as I disabled the sidebar/follow feature, nothing would show up.
Hey Kenneth
OK, I’m on that today. I did not get the same problem as you before when testing on 3.0 but maybe I was not as complex as yourself…. anyhow, I’m looking now and could do with knowing what theme you use?
All the best
Andy
For some reason, the share buttons are not appearing at the end of my posts now. As far as I know this has just started happening with the latest release.
Hey Eli,
Appologies that it’s screwed up, but I think I have a fix for you. All you need to do is go into the admin screen and save the settings again. Basically I change one thing in the admin screen that make the system more error free (PHP wise) and it has screwed a few people up. I changed the way the page exclusion works. So all you need is Settings –> Share and Follow and the check the first box for the page/post/homepage/author/exclusion settings.
do let me know if that does not instantly fix it

Andy – I solved my problem! The conflict was with a plugin called wp-typography that I added. This plugin does some very nice things, but it’s not nearly as needed as your plugin. I’ve disabled wp-Typography, and all is now right in my world. Thanks for all the time you spent helping me troubleshoot. If you’re ever able to look into why the plugins conflict and come up with a solution, I’d love to know, but I’m not asking for that. Yours trumps. Thanks so much!

great stuff Rob. thanks for the heads up
And I was wrong yet again. The plugins are not in conflict. The other plugin conflicts with WooThemes. I figured out a work-around from that author’s site. I had installed it when I also updated yours, and made an assumption that, it turns out, was wrong. Your plugin was never causing the conflict.
Good job. Thanks for Vkontakte button especially!
thanks fella.
